Snow Globe Travelers Received Five-Stars from Readers’ Favorite

God is good!

I’ve been thanking Him all day long for the journey of writing Snow Globe Travelers and for the people who traveled the path with me, even if it was only for a short while.

Today, I discovered Snow Globe Travelers received a Readers’ Favorite Five-Star review, and I thought of the three ladies who edited and proofed and of all of you who have encouraged me. With God and all of you, this book entered the world.

Thank you! 💜

The full review is here:

“Nearly every person alive has some familiarity with snow globes, their connection with holidays and the tranquil, snowy images that make them seem both mysterious and irresistible. In her science fantasy adventure for children and preteens, Snow Globe Travelers: Samuel’s Legacy, K.A. Cummins takes the mystery and allure of the snow globe and goes one step further. I loved following Sarah as she gamely sets out to explore new worlds — such a marvelous feat of courage for a sheltered girl whose prior experience was her family’s farm. Cummins’ plot kept me engaged and enjoying the story, and her characters are credible and well-defined. The mystery of Samuel and his disappearance is a thread the reader can’t help but want to keep on untangling along with Sarah. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series. Snow Globe Travelers: Samuel’s Legacy will appeal to science fantasy lovers of all ages and it’s most highly recommended.”—Jack Magnus for Readers’ Favorite

Stage of War Coming January 3rd

I’m excited to share with you all that Havok will be publishing my flash fiction thriller, Stage of War, on January 3rd!

Stage of War will be free to read for 24 hours. After that, it will be moved to the members-only portion of the website. So on January 3rd, be sure to pop over to to read Stage of War, and, if you enjoy it, vote for it. Votes give each story a chance to be included in Havok’s bi-yearly anthology and a shot at the Reader’s Choice Award.

This will be my first ezine publication!

Let’s get a Little Crazy

It’s time to throw out the old and make room for the new, right? Well, here’s what’s coming in the new year.

New Features

Beginning in January, there’ll be a behind-the-scenes or world-building feature on the third Friday of every month (occasionally on the first Friday too). Each feature will focus on one clean, speculative fiction story written for either middle-grade or young adults.

I’m really excited about this change and ecstatic that several authors have already agreed to contribute. Grace Bridges is up first. She’ll be doing a feature on her Earthcore series on January 18th! (View the upcoming schedule here.)

More Fiction

On the second Friday of every month, I’ll post a flash fiction story or web serial update (under a thousand words).

News and Reviews

With the blog’s shifting focus, news and updates will be scaled back to just the bigger announcements.

You’ll still see the occasional book review. However, if you’d like to see more book reviews, check out Lands Uncharted or follow me on Goodreads (I generally only post four and five-star reviews).

I hope you’ll enjoy these changes. If you have any feedback or questions, feel free to drop a line in the comments or send me a message using the contact form.
