Custom Typesetting enhances a book’s interior design with thoughtful page layouts and graphical elements specific to each story.
Since copy editing and typesetting go hand-in-hand, I’m currently pursuing a copy editing certification. My Custom Typesetting services will include proofreading with options for copy editing and custom illustrations. Rates will start at $0.015 per a word (based on the final word count and the level of typesetting complexity) with a $20 minimum.
Experience is valuable, especially as a student. With that in mind, I am offering Custom Typesetting at a reduced rate of $0.01 per a word, with a $20 minimum, for projects under 90,000 words to be completed July thru November 2020.
- one round of copy editing (reviewing style, flow, and grammar)
- custom typesetting, conformed to your printers specifications (margins, page bleeds, etc. . .)
- one round of proofreading (post-typesetting)
(Proofreading is not just to review for lingering typos and grammatical errors, but also to ensure the final typeset design is rendered on the page correctly. Print copies for proofreading are recommended, but not necessary.)
If you have any questions or would like a free three-page sample edit, please contact me.
Unless otherwise requested, copyediting will be completed using the Chicago Manual of Style for fiction, the Associated Press Stylebook for non-fiction, and the Merriam-Webster Dictionary for preferred spelling.
